  • A vacuum sealer is a device that removes air from a plastic bag or container and seals it to preserve food freshness, extend shelf life, and prevent freezer burn.
  • 1)Food preservation: It can extend the shelf life of foods, keeping food fresh up to 5 times longer by reducing oxygen because it inhibits bacterial growth .
2)Keeping flavors and nutrients: It can prevent the evaporation of volatile components so it can lock in flavors and nutrients.
3)Avoiding freezer burn: Foods don't get freezer burn because they are not exposed to cold and dry air.
4)Meal prep: Portion and store meals for easy cooking and saving time.
5)Marinating: Vacuum Sealing System has a special Quick Marinate Cycle which will last about thirty (household models) or ten minutes (commercial models), allowing foods to get optimum flavor infusion in the least amount of time. The vacuum motor will “hold” the vacuum for several minutes then release the vacuum allowing the food to“rest” for some time. This process will then repeat for 15 times for household models or 5 times for commercial models. This “Pulsing” action of “vacuuming and resting” will allow food for quicker marinating.
6)Sous vide cooking: Perfect for preparing sous vide meals.
7)Non-food items: Protect important documents, electronics, or jewelry from corrosion and moisture-damage.
8)Reducing package size: Except for keeping food package clean and dry, Vacuum packing with flexible package forms can reduce the volume of the contents and package to save space.
  • Vacuum packing is a method of packaging that removes air from the package prior to sealing. This way reduces oxygen, limiting the growth of aerobic bacteria or fungi, and preventing the evaporation of volatile components.
  • Refrigerator: 2-3 times longer than normal storage.
Freezer: Up to 2-3 years for some foods.
Pantry: Dry goods like grains or nuts can last up to 1-2 years.
  • YES. Vacuum packaged foods must be refrigerated or frozen. Vacuum packing can extend the shelf life but it can not reverse the deterioration of food. In other words, if the food has already started to spoil before vacuum packaging, then it just slow down the spoiling status.
Never leave any perishable foods at room temperature even they are vacuum packaged.
You MUST defrost all vacuum packed perishable foods in the refrigerator as the foods inside is not sterile.
  • Yes, but you need to use the "Pulse" or "Moist" setting (if available) to prevent liquids from being sucked into the machine. Alternatively, freeze liquids before sealing. Better to use vacuum canister to vacuum seal liquids.
  • a.Soft cheese--Soft cheese may mold faster in vacuum than in regular air. But hard cheese ok for vacuum sealing.

b.Raw fruits such as bananas, whole apples --They would decay faster in vacuum seal than regular air because of their natural ripening. If you want to vacuum seal apples you must slice it and put some lemon juice on the slices to prevent them from browning. For bananas, peal them before vacuum package, then put in the refrigerator or freezer.

c.Raw onions, garlic, raw mushrooms & Cruciferae vegetables such as radishes, watercress, kale, mustard greens, cabbage, lettuce etc.--They produce natural gases that may result in loss of vacuum and spoil the food.

d.Coffee beans--They release carbon dioxide that would result in loss of vacuum.

e.Freshly cooked or steamed veggies--Hot foods may cause loss of vacuum. So you must let foods come to room temperature before vacuuming and sealing.
  • YES you can vacuum seal coins, important papers, silverware, survival kits and other non-food items. But make sure to do some protective actions before vacuum sealing, such as putting cardboard as backing for coins to eliminate the possibility of any marks left or to avoid pages and print transfers to stick together. And wrap hard items, something like silverware by soft cushioning material such as paper towel to avoid puncturing bag.
  • You can use bottle stoppers to vacuum pack partially consumed wine or other liquids which will keep them 5 times longer than just re-corking the bottle because it keeps out the oxygen that creates “off” flavors. Make sure to keep 1 inch between liquid and bottom of bottle stopper.
  • 1)Vacuum sealer bags or rolls: A specially designed bag used with a vacuum sealer to store food or other items by removing air and creating an airtight seal. One side of the bag is typically textured (embossed with spots, stripes or diamonds pattern) to allow air to escape during the vacuuming process.
2)Embossed zip bags. It can be reusable for dry food.
3)Vacuum Canisters. A kind of storage container designed to work with a vacuum sealer to preserve food or other items by removing air and creating an airtight seal.
